I enjoy going on treks with my backpack in remote, unpopulated areas.

Oulanka National Park, Finland

Finland is definitely my favourite destination. The beautiful unspoilt nature and the vastness make it very special. In some areas I walked for days without seeing any other people!

I did my first treks in Finland in May 2002. You can see some of the pictures I took there.

One of the most famous trails in Finland is "Karhunkierros" or "The Bears Ring". I've compiled all the information I found about this trail into my "Hiking Karhunkierros" page.

I enjoyed these treks so much that I returned in September 2002, again to Oulanka National Park.

Again I hope to return to Finland as soon as possible, there are still so many places to go and things to do.
